Jerome Westheimer Center for the Performing Arts

Ardmore, Oklahoma

After years of being a long-awaited desire for Ardmore City Schools, a performing arts center is finally becoming a reality. This achievement is made possible through a combination of a 2018 bond issue and generous donations from the Jerome Westheimer Family Foundation. The building will be an impressive structure, spanning 50,000 SF and costing $26 million. Its main highlight will be a performance hall with a seating capacity of 800, providing a spacious and comfortable environment for audiences. Additionally, the center will feature dedicated rehearsal spaces for band, orchestra, and choral activities, as well as private practice rooms to facilitate individual practice sessions. To support the various needs of performers and staff, the center will also include essential support spaces. These spaces encompass a scene shop for set construction, dressing rooms for performers, a catering pantry, and a concessions area to cater to the needs of visitors. Furthermore, the center’s double-height lobby will serve as a versatile gathering space, suitable for seated functions or standing receptions. With these impressive features and amenities, the new performing arts center will undoubtedly provide a remarkable venue for artistic expression and cultural events in Ardmore.
